Socks are undoubtedly the classic knits. There are millions of knitting patterns to be found, but these four are surely among our favorites. Enjoy trying them out!

Sock knitting pattern:

1. Tennarissuka | Taina Anttila

The pattern of these lovely ankle socks is available in English and Finnish and the best: it’s a free Ravelry download.

2. Pom Pom Socklets | Purl Soho

The Pom Pom socks are a revival of a mid-70’s Chris Evert rocked the classic combo. Originally the pom pom might have been invented to keep the sock from slipping down into the sneaker. Whereas this still works, it is nowadays more of a stylish feature. You can just use one color of yarn or 2 colors per sock or even make different versions for each sock as seen in the picture.

3. Arrow Socks | Makiho Negishi

The pattern of these cute arrow socks is only available in Japanese, but it comes with photos and charts included. The socks are recommended for cold winter as the weave pattern makes them quite warm.

4. Cable Slipper Socks| Jessica Joy

The Cable Slipper socks in simple cable design with nice color highlights on cuffs and toes are a perfect pattern for aspiring sock knitters. You don´t need a specific size needle or gauge as the socks are thick and stretchy and you can easily lengthen or shorten the cuff and foot length for desired size.

Jessica provides her sock pattern for £4.17 GBP / £3.50.
