Knitted taxidermy | Rachel Denny
Artist Rachel Denny from Portland/US is known for her Domestic Trophies covered in cashmere cable knit wool. Using this soft, colorful material she transforms the big outdoors into gentle characters contrasting femine and masculine, wildness and serenity, naturalness and unnaturalness. The knitted taxidermy also examine the beauty of our natural world and the imprint of human intervention on it.
The fine art sculptors showcase different wild animals as lambs, deers, horses and bears. They are made of polyurethane foam, wood, wool, thread and a zipper.
Rachel is represented by Foster/White Gallery in Seattle and has been seen in numerious solo and group exhibitions for over 10 years in the US.
